Hi, I'm Dr. Yolanda Segal. I am a licensed bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Psychologist. I have had the pleasure of being in private practice since 2009. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Criminology from The Florida State University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Florida School of Professional Psychology (FSPP). I also obtained my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from FSPP–Argosy University.
Early on in my career, I specialized in working with sexual offenders. I worked at The Treatment and Detention Center in Joliet, IL with those committed as Sexually Violent Persons. I then transitioned to outpatient work with sexual offenders in Washington, DC, and Maryland. In 2009, I opened up my own practice where I began working with clients who were seeking help with stress management, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. In 2009, I was an Adjunct Professor at American University in the Department of Justice, Law & Society. From 2010 - 2012, I was the Mental Health Court Coordinator for The District of Columbia Superior Court in Washington, DC.
My passion is helping adults achieve well-being, balance, and living their best life. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between the client and therapist. I strive to encourage, support, and challenge you to become a better you. I offer an integrative approach to therapy using evidence-based best practices and offer individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
