What I Bring to the Room

Dr. Michael Segal is a licensed clinical psychologist who served his country as a federal law enforcement officer (LEO) for more than 20 years. He worked for several agencies in multiple positions and disciplines. Having lived the reality of shift work, sleep deprivation, and high-stakes calls, Dr. Segal brings an authentic understanding to his clinical practice. He knows firsthand that dark humor is a survival tool, not an illness.

Dr. Segal specializes in treating chronic stress and complex trauma in police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and dispatchers. His approach is straight forward, no-nonsense, and entirely confidential. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients process critical incidents and regain control over their nervous systems. He is dedicated to helping first responders protect their mental health so they can protect their careers and families.
